Our R&D process is underway, and we are excited to develop the first marine-specific, biodegradable cups for everyday beach cleanups!

Where We Are Today
YES! We will ultimately pursue a patent on our design.
That's important to protect our idea. A patent will also helpĀ ensure that the proceeds of our cups go towards furthering our mission and those of other like-minded organizations.
We plan to only keep what we need for our operational costs (plus inventory) from the future sales of our Ocean CUPS.
Any revenue beyond our operating costs will be gifted directly to other nonprofits with similar goals of preserving sea life, ocean health, and clean beaches.

We are developing a network of R&D and materials scientist partners to work on our initial CUPS prototypes.
As you can imagine, there is always some trial and error when building something new. Did you know that Thomas Edison tested over 6,000 materials before he discovered that tungsten was the right filament for the first light bulb?
We don't anticipate that many unsuccessful attempts, but we're prepared to dig deep into our pockets of patience.
